“POWs get better treatment under the Geneva Convention than Anthony got while in the Gila County jail,” Jason Kelly stated during an interview conducted as part of an ABC 15 investigative report.

The legal action filed by Jason Kelly is the fourth such lawsuit filed against the Gila County Sheriff’s Office in the last two years.

Valerie Stewart’s lawsuit follows a $1.5 million notice of claim filed by Jason Kelly in October 2021. (See related article, “Jason Kelly Interviewed in News Report on County Jail Abuses for Mentally Ill Prisoners.”)
